Niners Wednesday: We Still Have History to Fall Back On

• Carmen, I hope you're using a little more than "passion," but your work is appreciated nonetheless. Worst case, we can always slander Santa Clara.

• The next four games hold the key to the season. NO, ATL, SEA and STL. If the Niners can't come out with at least 2 wins, they'll be toast. It's worth remembering, though, that they started 2-4 last year.

• Let's hope A.Smith is back on Sunday. If you haven't noticed, Trent Dilfer ain't all that and a slice of bread.

• Niners Nation has a nice preview of the Saints. If there was ever a game to get our offense going, it's this Sunday. New Oreleans' pass defense has more holes than its levies. Hooooooo. ZING! See what I did there? I took something football related and made a pun based on current events from 2 years ago. Bet you never would have thought of that. And that's why I'm in charge here, kiddo.

• Shorter first round in the NFL draft this year. Hell yeah. I have a feeling that Indy pick we're holding might come somewhere near the end of the round. Call it a hunch.

Think this guy is available on Sunday? He's probably still better than anyone on our roster. And what a dancer!
